Cornel Johnson is a seasoned security professional with over 20 years of frontline experience as a doorman and security specialist in high-risk environments, including gentlemen’s clubs, bars, and nightclubs. His expertise extends beyond nightlife security, with experience consulting for and providing protection to political and religious organizations—demonstrating his versatility in adapting security principles across diverse settings.

Cornel is also a dedicated martial artist with a 2nd-degree black belt in Judo, complemented by training in traditional Jiu-Jitsu, boxing, wrestling, and combatives. This extensive background equips him with a practical and comprehensive approach to personal protection and violence management, which he now passes on through his leadership and instruction.

A grappler at heart and a protector by nature, Cornel’s no-nonsense approach to training and instruction embodies the mission of Practical Combat Applications: preparing individuals to be mentally, emotionally, and physically capable of defending themselves and others.
