Steel Hameed is the founder and chief instructor of Practical Combat Applications (PCA), a self-protection platform forged from nearly 20 years of real-world experience and a lifelong study of combat arts.
A former NRA-certified instructor in multiple disciplines, Hameed has over 15 years of experience as a Security Consultant and Executive Protection Specialist and remains active in the field today. His PCA platform was shaped by two decades of managing violence in extreme environments as a Doorman/ Security Specialist in the proving grounds of Atlanta,Georgia’s bars, gentlemen’s clubs, and nightclubs (laboratories). These environments demanded the ability to Manage combat stress, confront armed and unarmed threats ( including concealed firearms) , address multiple threats, apply soft skills for de-escalation and intelligence gathering, and maintain heightened situational awareness in volatile settings.
He is a Sanuces Ryu Jiu-Jitsu black belt under Professor Carrol Little and a Judo brown belt under Steven Alphabet. Hameed is also the most senior student of Khun Andre Glenn, under whom he trained extensively in both the 360 Kombat System and Lerdrit—two distinct disciplines that form a core part of his combative methodology. In addition, he fought competitively in Sanshou and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) under Kru Joe Merit and Coach Glenn Russell, testing and refining his skills under the live pressure of full-contact competition.
Today, Hameed provides specialized training for law enforcement, security professionals,
and civilians, with a clear mission: to prepare individuals to be mentally, emotionally, and
physically capable of protecting themselves and their loved ones.
